A big field for this decent nursery and an open betting market, but a clear-cut winner in HENDERSON PARK in a time 2.67sec faster than the preceding fillies' maiden. Making his handicap debut, having been placed in all three starts over 7f on good and easy ground, Henderson Park travelled well before kicking on just inside the two-furlong pole. He deserved this success, having been beaten no more than half a length in his previous outings, and readily reversed form with Quatermain, despite being on 4lb worse terms, and the effort was all the more meritorious considering he was drawn on the wide outside. He will not run again this year but should make a decent handicapper in 2009.

Quatermain had been unable to build on his defeat of Henderson Park at Redcar, but had come up against the subsequent Rockfel winner on his next start and the return to waiting tactics and good ground seemed to help. He came out of the pack but the winner had flown.

Parthenon put up a fine effort under top weight, having been drawn wide, and lost a fair amount of ground at the start. He still had a fair bit to do at the two-furlong pole, but picked up down the outside and, with some useful form already in the book, looks sure to make up into a decent handicapper next season.

Zaaqya, a winner over the trip, was held up and did not pick up immediately before staying on late. She may be more effective on a faster surface.

Felday, a 7f winner on easy ground, came to have his chanceinside the last two furlongs before his effort petered out, while In Transit, who has been busy, has dropped a stone since his nursery debut in July and was another who showed up until fading late on.

Dialogue, a winner over 7f on Polytrack and effective on a sound surface on turf, was held up on this handicap debut before staying on, while the two market leaders were disappointing; Hunterview made the running but capitulated tamely once taken on, while Sequillo appeared well enough placed for most of the way but failed to pick up when asked and was ultimately eased inside the last furlong after losing his action.
