Encircled, who is proven at this trip, was 5lb above her last winning mark but has dropped 5lb from a high of 81. She showed the benefit of her recent returnfrom a break by sweeping down the outside and got almost upsides the winner, only for that rival to find extra when challenged. She is relatively fresh for the time of year and connections may be able to get a win out of her either on turf or Polytrack before long.
Turban Heights missed the break and had to be rousted to take the lead. She was taken on early in the straight but rallied and kept going pretty well despite the winner going across her bows at one point. Her recent return to action hadbeen over 1m6f and she was clearly more at home at this trip.
The inexperienced Red And White had only raced on soft ground prior to this but appeared to handle the surface and showed no sign of the bounce factor, having only recently returned from 15 months off.
Magic Echo was held up and had her chance over two furlongs from home. She goes well on soft and looks less effective on this sort of going plus she is 8lb above her last winning mark and probably held by the handicapper.
