Analyis of the race

Just a fair fillies' maiden and something of a bunched finish but FALLEN IN LOVE, who made a promising debut behind Filles' Mile winner Rainbow View at Newmarket (first three all won since) and, despite being a one-paced third over 7f next time, had possibly the best form on offer. She went on a fair way from home but pricked her ears and was not doing much in the final furlong. Being by Galileo she may get a little further, although her dam and her half-brother were best around a mile. She looks to have more to offer and is clearly held in high regard as she is entered in both the Irish 1000 Guineas and Irish Oaks.

Polly's Mark had put up a couple of fair efforts in Newbury maidens over 7f on soft ground and she handles this surface well enough, but could not respond when the winner went past.

Holamo had shown some ability on her debut in a 1m Polytrack maiden and built on that despite still showing signs of inexperience. This 110,000gns yearling looks capable of winning races but may have to improve a fair amount to justify her pruchase price.

The same remark applies to Valletta, a half-sister to Veracity out of a mare who stayed 1m4f plus, also put up a promising effort and should do better next season.

Lilly Blue, an Irish Oaks entry, finished last of five in Listed race last time but was the only non-winner and only filly in the field so did not do badly. However, the time for that race was moderate and she may have been flattered, as she failed to make much impression this time.
