Polly's Mark had put up a couple of fair efforts in Newbury maidens over 7f on soft ground and she handles this surface well enough, but could not respond when the winner went past.
Holamo had shown some ability on her debut in a 1m Polytrack maiden and built on that despite still showing signs of inexperience. This 110,000gns yearling looks capable of winning races but may have to improve a fair amount to justify her pruchase price.
The same remark applies to Valletta, a half-sister to Veracity out of a mare who stayed 1m4f plus, also put up a promising effort and should do better next season.
Lilly Blue, an Irish Oaks entry, finished last of five in Listed race last time but was the only non-winner and only filly in the field so did not do badly. However, the time for that race was moderate and she may have been flattered, as she failed to make much impression this time.
