Brown Vixen is getting a tad frustrating but it would be unkind to be too critical here as she was clearly beaten by a superior horse. The rider was very keen indeed to get her across from the outside draw to try and bag the inside rail, which he succeeded in doing, but she was pretty much spent inside the last and hadno answer when the favourite challenged.
The Tooth Fairy had shown some promise in the race won by Beth at Sligo and runner-up that night Lough Mist went on to win at the same venue on Tuesday. He showed a bit more here but might just prefer a quick six furlongs. Towards the back for the first three furlongs, he kept on well inside the final furlong to be nearest at the finish.
Inexcess also ran on from a good bit behind to be never nearer while being never dangerous. He was outpaced early on but did run on late and could win a handicap over a little bit further.
