The winner had the best form in the race as a former Group 3 winner who developed into a decent hurdler early last year before losing his way. He had a highest rating of 104 at one stage and stay-at-home backers will be pleased with the return and the manner of his win. Always travelling he edged ahead 3f out and always had matters under control under a confident ride.
Truckers Delight ran well after coming form off the pace over a trip that was probably on the short side.
The same could be said of Gwens Spirit, who won his bumper on good ground at Gowran Park last April and another bumper winner Otterstown Lady, who had a couple of reasonable runs at Leopardstown and Galway.
Ballet Boy, winner of a couple of races since joining Charles O'Brien this year, had a lot to do under his penalty and it showed when he was headed after taking over from long-time leader Hawkwind.
