This was not a strong nursery for the money on offer but it produced an impressive winner in RISING PROSPECT who travelled well before bounding clear once set alight. He had won his maiden at York in heavy ground but had not built on that in soft conditions and Cosmic Sun appeared to have his measure on their meeting at Doncaster. Well regarded and entered for the Derby, he was suited by the hold-up tactics here.Top weight Cosmic Sun was being shoved along early in the straight. He stayed on well in the end to grab second, getting the mile well enough, but was never a threat to the winner. He has now finished second on four of his last five starts.
Veronicas Boy travelled quite well and made late headway, but had been left with too much to do in the circumstances. He handled the ground and rise in trip well enough.
Victorian Tycoon, runner-up at Kempton last time, was taken on for the lead by Becausewan and their exertions eventually told.
Huxaar was a little disappointing after winning his maiden in heavy ground last time.
