My Mirasol always prominent, ridden over 2f out, led well over 1f out, headed close home
It´s A Dream held up in rear, came very wide straight, headway on outside over 1f out, ran on inside final furlong
United Nations held up in mid-division, ridden and headway 2f out, not quicken inside final furlong
Baltimore Jack always prominent, ridden well over 1f out, not quicken inside final furlong
Pelham Crescent held up in rear, ridden over 1f out, stayed on inside final furlong, nearest finish
Bavarica held up in mid-division, headway on outside over 2f out, ridden over 1f out, weakened inside final furlong
Tous Les Deux held up towards rear, ridden over 1f out, switched right to outside inside final furlong, never dangerous
Moment Of Clarity held up in rear, headway on inside when not clear run just over 2f out, ridden and weakened well over 1f out
Old Romney led, ridden and headed well over 1f out, eased when beaten inside final furlong
Uig held up towards rear, hung right and reminders over 3f out, soon struggling
Mafasina held up in touch, ridden over 3f out, weakened 2f out
Montrose Man chased leader until ridden over 2f out, weakened well over 1f out
STRIKE FORCE was racing off a mark just 3lb higher after winning in similar circumstances atthis track last time. Held up in rear, he came with a determined run down the outside to get up near the finish. Now that this former sprinter has learned to settle, connections think this sort of trip is right for him.
My Mirasol saves her best for this track and ran perhaps the most creditable race of the field, tracking the early leaders before getting outpaced along with most of the runners on the home turn, but still able to lead in the straight before just getting collared near home.
It's A Dream stayed on strongly from rear without ever being any nearer but has now dropped to a feasible mark.
Baltimore Jack had been sprinting earlier in the season but was unable to get the lead here. However, he stayed on after getting briefly outpaced on the turn and showed that he can be effective at thislonger trip.
Joint-favourite Old Romney was driven up to get the lead on the rail and looked to be the only one travelling easily on the home turn, but the early burst of pace may have told because within a few strides he was under pressure and weakened right out of contention. The other joint-favourite, Tous Les Deux, was held up but could make no impression.
