HenryCecil sent out subsequent Oaks winner Light Shift to win this maiden on her third start in 2006 and repeated the trick with MIDDAY who, like her trainer's latest winner of this race, had finished third in a 7f maiden on the July course last time. Although Cecil was apparently keen to play down this one's prospects, Ted Durcan felt she was just running a little lazily, suggesting there is plenty more to come, and she rates as a very useful prospect. She may have one more run this year and is expected to stay 1m2f next season.
Three Moons travelled nicely and kept on well for pressure but, just as on her first two starts, she found one too good. She was clear of the remainder and will not always run into such a nice type. Featherweight, who finished well in a weaker maiden than this over 7f on Polytrack at Lingfield on her debut, kept on for third without ever posing a threat. She should stay 1m2f next year.
Al Tamooh raced with no cover and was too keen for her own good on this step up in trip. She is bred to stay even further, but will need to learn to settle better.
Inhibition, by Nayef, half-sister to among others high-class miler Passing Glance, shaped nicely further back in the field and is open to a good deal of improvement. Take The Hint, like her stablemate in fourth, was not helped by a single-figure stall but this daughter of Montjeu, half-sister to among others smart 7f-1m performer Stronghold, showed ability and is open to improvement.
Dulcie stayed on well enough further back in the field, despite meeting a bit of trouble, and should do better over further next year. Demeanour, beaten at short odds over 7f at Redcar on her previous start, is better than she showed as she was one of only two to race towards the near side early, well away from the others, and that was not the place to be.
