The winner had proved successful on his third start in a decent Navan bumper on yielding ground last November and the only concern beforehand was the fact this was his first run back from a 149-day absence. His class against these rivals became apparent after racing in the leading group from the outset. He effortlessly reeled in the leader to lead away from the second-last and forgedclear on ground that was probably testing enough for the son of Alhaarth.
He should be capable of taking the next step in winners' company on this evidence after jumping reasonably well at the first time of asking.
Cabin Point was another to race in the front rank on his hurdling bow. She was receiving almost a stone from the winner, but after a slightly awkward leap at the second-last was soon fighting a losing battle after coming wide in search of the better ground. Like the winner, she should also benefit from this initial experience over jumps and will also appreciate a sounder surface.
Dominus Maximus shaped reasonably well first time out over hurdles on ground that was probably far from ideal, along with Exit Bob.
Solomons Secret racedprominently until weakening after the third-last but this represented some improvement on his midfield Leopardstown debut effort last January.
Limerick maiden winner Nazdaq was easy to back on his first run over jumps and never threatened at the business end along with Langkawi Beach, who failed to build on his Sligo jumps debut fifth recorded last month.
