A second success over hurdles for the very consistent OUR ERIC, and while there was more than an element of good fortune about his victory last time, there was no fluke about his win in this mostly modest affair.

The first three were superior by some margin. Held up early, the winner began to make some progress on the final circuit before closing right up entering the straight. He was travelling like a winner from there, but he was made to battle by the runner-up and it was probably just as well that he produced a good jump at the last as it could have been nip and tuck. In the end he forged on close home. He did edge right and forced the runner-up to switch when he went on but he was the worthy winner.

Sebadee was given a good patient rideby Eddie Power. Making progress on the final circuit, he travelled well to lead entering the straight and jumped the last two well. He ran on well but the winner was just a shade too good.

Showing some ability and staying on from a long way back was Rollin Barrell. It's hard to know what he achieved in doing so. He finished a place in front of Dr Doocey, who ran well after an 11-month absence as she was prominent most of the way until dropping off the leaders inside the final half-mile.
