Senor Christy mid-division, no impression from 5 out, pulled up after 4 out
Killenaule Boy, running for the fourth time over fences, improved on previous efforts. He raced keenly in midfield before settling and making headway three out. Switched right in third two out, he stayed on from the last and just shaded the verdict for second place.
Holly Tree, a three-time winner over hurdles and rated 113 over fences, was having his second run back following a break. Always in the leading group, he went to the front after three out and was soon driven along. Headed at the last, he kept on under pressure. He won at up to 2m4f over hurdles and an overdue first success over fences should come his way.
Running Late, a bumper winner with placed form over hurdles, was making his debut over fences. He performed creditably, but was unable to make any real headway from before two out.
Good Thyne Jack, a six-time winner over hurdles at longer distances but without a win since February 2006, had run over fences only once previously and he never really threatened to get into contention here.
The rider of Senor Christy, who was pulled up after four out, reported that his mount did not act on the ground. (TOH)
