Riding arrangements suggested that Love To Dance was the main Ballydoyle hope here, a half sister to Dylan Thomas, and when she hit the front 1f out, it looked as though Seamie Heffernan's mount was going to prevail.
But it was at this stage that GENTLE ON MY MIND was only warming to her task and under a driving Colm O'Donoghue, she picked up her stable companion in good fashion inside the final 150 yards.
After being involved in some slight interference in the early stages, Gentle On My Mind was settled in fifth position for much of this race and, while she was still fourth passing the 1f marker, and still running somewhat green, her jockey's urgings paid off and she looked a good winner in the end. A Stakes race is now likely to be the next port of call for the winner, a half sister to Ezima, and she looks capable of making up for lost time.
Love To Dance was having her sixth race here but it looked as though she was going to finally break her duck when sweeping into the lead 1f out; but she was outdone by her stablemate late on. She shouldn't have to wait much longer though until she finally tastes race success.
There had been some support for the David Wachman-trained Moonlight Sapphire and she did her best to make most having taken up the running inside the opening furlong, but had no answer when tackled by the principals before keeping on for fourth.
The Pott Reidy finished best of the rest after racing mainly in fifth position throughout, while the well-supported New Phase looked full of running 2f out but made no impression when asked and finished a remote sixth.
