ATHLUMNEY LAD has been a good servant to the Meade stable down the years, and appreciated this more searching test of stamina following his run in the Ulster Derby.
Rainbow Dash seems to have got a new lease of life. Having recorded his first Flat win since 2003 at Kempton recently, he dug deep to produce another display to roll back the years again.
Bahrain Storm gave a good account under a big weight, with his rider's useful claim a help to his cause. He is a versatile type who could pick up a decent prize in the coming months.
The other one worthy of a mention is Kilfarasay, who gave a career-best running from 11lb out of the handicap. If this improvement can be maintained the Galileo filly ought to be able to pick up a staying handicap.
My Valley, best known for her exploits at Galway, dropped away after making the running.
