Northern Dare ran a super race and ran all the way to the line as you would expect of a Dandy Nicholls trained horse in a race like this. He was prominent throughout towards the stands' side and after briefly looking as though he would back-pedal a furlong out, he found a bit extra. He kept going well up the hill but the winner was just too good.
Miss Gorica showed her aptitude for this trip with a first win over 6f at Navan three weeks ago and she ran as good a race as she ever has in this race. She showed plenty of speed but in the end was unable to keep it up in this company over this trip, as she weakened inside the last. She's become a very versatilemare and a step up to Listed class looks likely.
Kingsdale Ocean was one of the few that ran on from off the pace. He didn't really seem to go the early pace and seemed to be going nowhere a furlong and a half out but to his credit he kept on well up the hill to be never nearer. He finished ahead of the speedy College Scholar who weakened inside the final furlong and might be better suited by 5f and Croi Mo Ri, who beat the winner at Fairyhouse but was unable to confirm the placings over this trip. Again, he was prominent but couldn't raise his effort inside the last furlong and a half.
Hot favourite Aine was most disappointing. She tracked the leaders on the inner but came under strong pressure over a furlong out. She was starting to run on a little bit, but didn't really look like making much impression when she was squeezed up and eased inside the last. [JOH]
