A very ordinary contest but it was won well by BETTY BURKE, who led home a one-two for the stable. Racing handily, she closed up early in the straight and eventually got on top inside the final furlong. When she hit the front she picked up again and drew clear to win readily. It was a very ordinary race, so it would have to be unlikely that the handicapper will punish her too much.

Shane Foley took the brave man's route on Fungible and he ran very well. Always prominent hard against the insiderail, he disputed the lead early in the straight and was one of a number of horses with chances, but he kept on well without having the finishing kick of his stablemate.

Headford Lady ran a perfectly respectable race on her seasonal debut. She wasprominent throughout towards the inside and kept going more or less to the line without having any chance with the winner.

Kilmore Times showed plenty of early dash and was bang there most of the way. He managed to sustain his challenge on the outer until he weakened inside the final furlong or so, prompting the thought that a try at the minimum trip might be a worthwhile exercise. [JOH]
