Fran Berry's position at the top of the jockeys' table is no accident, and he gave a copybook ride to MYTHICAL PRINCE. Always reasonably handy on the outer, he was being pushed along for a stride or two when the runner-up kicked again inside the two-furlong marker, but Berry remained patient and the gelding came with a sustained run from the top of the straight to get up inside the final 100 yards.

Kahuna ran a fine race and shows no signs of deteriorating. Setting out to make all, he ran all the way to the line and was a shade unlucky to be caught close home.

Diyla was held up early and made good progress under three furlongs out to chase the leaders, but was a bit one-paced in the straight. A course winner, she probably needs the ground to be a bit softer to be seen at her best these days.

Saranjo chased the leaders and made some brief progress before the turn into the straight, but could keep on only at one pace.
