Evening Rushour had hinted at ability on her debut at Leopardstown in June 2006 when chasing home Miss Beatrix in a 7f maiden when trained by Brian Nolan. This was a pleasing return - her first outing since last October - and she can hopefully build on this display.
Newcomer Zaziyra, a filly by Dalakhani out of a mare by Kahyasi, was the subject of some bullish reports beforehand and the market reflected this. She raced in touch from the outset, but never looked like getting involved in the straight with her inexperience not helping her cause on this ground. She should learn plenty from this initial effort especially when she encounters a sounder surface.
Officious Madam had finished a place behind the winner in third when they clashed on their respective debuts over 1m at the Curragh two weeks ago. Jim Bolger's filly was easy to back on this easier ground and, after getting a few reminders early in the straight, was soon fighting a losing battle and her rider accepted the situation.
Zibrova ran green on her debut at Leopardstown, but this was more encouraging. She was pushed along early to race in the leading group and kept on without troubling the principals when they pulled away early in the straight. She seems to be going the right way.[BF]
