Duroob left a lot of his previous form behind and seemed to relish the rain-softened ground. Held up early,he made very good ground to get into contention before the turn into the straight and was produced with a well-timed challenge at the second last. He looked the most likely winner at that stage but the winner just kept finding and in the end outstayed him. One would have to be careful suggesting this horse looks likely to win a race, but he showed enough ability on this day.
Another held up early was Alis Choice. He attempted to stay on and get competitive from the second last but his effort soon came to an end as the first two went away from him. He gets 3m on good ground but his stamina seemed to be coming to an end in this race.
Tarkani could never really get into a competitive position. Held up in rear early, he tacked on to the heels of the leading group three out, but couldn't get any closer before staying on after the last.
Favourite Mingus Madness pulled quite hard early on, but still travelled well enough in making some reasonable progress before the fourth last but he was unable to sustain it from early in the straight.
The winner was left clear five out when The Hedge ran out and unseated Jacqui Kidd. [JOH]
