Tigim had been beaten a neck at Cork five days earlier when hitting the front at the 2f marker but it was a change of tactics here with Noel Henley's charge but he never looked like going one better. He raced mid-division from the outset and held every chance turning into the straight, and while he wasn't helped by Jacky Boy in front of him, he did manage to find enough room to claim second close home.
Upper Village was quickly into his stride and still led heading past the 2f marker but was one-paced from there onwards, while fourth-placed Absa Lutte was nearest at the finish after having to come with her challenge past some of the fading front-runners.
Jacky Boy was travelling best of everything when challenging for the lead at the 2f marker but seemed reluctant to go through with his effort before fading off to finish seventh .
