The betting on this fillies' maiden revolved around just a few horses and that's the way the race materialised, with the two market leaders dominating the finish. Despite disappointing on her seasonal debut at Dundalk in April, MASIYMA went off favourite here and she showed a neat turn of foot to get first run on Suailce. Having been settled in fifth place, Masiyma moved into third just before making the swing into the straight, went second at the two-furlong marker, then hit the front well outside the final furlong and held off the staying-on Suailce. The winner had been well regarded since she followed home the Aidan O'Brien-trained Kingdom Of Naples in a Navan maiden last season and she appears to be realising that potential. She is likely to go for a 1m4f handicap next time.

Suailce had filled the runner-up position on her previous three starts and it was the same again here. Having settled in mid-division, she moved into fifth position four furlongs out but was under pressure passing the two-furlong marker and it wasn't until late on that she closed the gap on the winner. The first two look above-average fillies and it was encouraging that they pulled well clear of the remainder of the field.

Fine Design was dropping back in trip after two second places, but she was under pressure over three furlongs out before staying on again close home, while Brosna Val could never get seriously involved and was one paced.
