Lilly Be came back to form with a good run at Tipperary a fortnight ago and stepped up again on that effort here. She set a typically fast pace and didn't throw in the towel when headed by the winner, as she ran all the way to the line, pulling clear of the remainder. She's a fast-ground specialist who has every chance of getting her turn if the weather stays as it is.
Another fast-ground filly is Ask Jenny, but she left her race at the start. Slowly into her stride, she was fighting a losing battle from there and never looked like getting into it despite running on well from a furlong and a half out.
Lone Plainsman has been out of form for quite some time. For a horse who normally possesses plenty of early pace, he was never involved and was only plugging on at the finish.
Favourite Paris Sue normally blazes a trail and would presumably have wanted to do the same here, but she tried to anticipate the start, banged her head on the stalls, and consequently missed the kick.
Emacolali reared on leaving the stalls and refused to race.
