After two runs this season it looks very likely that Art Sleuth isn't capable of running up to a mark of 82. Held up early, he was being driven to close over two furlongs out but came home well enough once he got going inside the final furlong and a half. It's fair to say, however, that the winner was just a bit too good for him.
More Time Tim raced reasonably handily on the inside. The first sign of trouble was when he didn't have much room when apparently full of running inside the final half mile, and when extricated he came there travelling significantly better than his main rivals.
Value Of Time didn't seem too unsuited by the drop back in trip on this sharp track. She had a handy position throughout and pretty much kept on at one pace over the last three furlongs without looking to have the pace to win. For all that she was only beaten two lengths.
The first fourpulled well clear of Kipeen Ella, who hasn't shown a great deal of ability in three runs so far but now qualifies for a handicap mark. [JOH]
