Racing just off the pace, she was being stoked up a bit down the back straight and when attempting to close on the leaders inside the last half mile the filly hung and seemedto almost stumble. She then closed off the bend and either switched or hung to her left. Whichever it was it worked as she got to the front and held off the late challenge of the runner-up. This ground is probably about as quick as she likes, but she's entered again at the weekend and may well run.
Cler was somewhat unlucky. He missed the break completely and was out the back for most of the journey, but made sustained progress over the final half mile and would have got up in another few strides.One wouldn't get carried away with the form of this particular race.
Tracking the early pace was Balgriffin. She improved to track the leader a furlong and a half out but she suffered a bit from the wanderings of the winner and got bumped at least once. She ran on well inside the final furlong and was a shade unlucky.
The first four pulled some way clear of the chasing group, headed by Dictation, who raced in mid-division most of the way before staying on past beaten horses. [JOH]
