He is a fair horse with some give in the ground and, although the handicapper will have his say after this fluent success, there may be more improvement to come from him.
Rothesay Dancer won this last year off a 6lb lower mark, but she was no match for the winner this time around.
Seafield Towers ran above himself, from 12lb out of the handicap.
Lake Chini ran well for a long way until coming up short entering the final furlong.
