There was a mixed bag, and some familiar names, in this seller, which fell to the odds-on favourite HIGHLAND WARRIOR, who, nevertheless, made life hard for himself by missing the break (which he often does) and having to come from a long way off the pace.
He got there inside the final furlong, but had to be driven right out to make sure of victory. He is happier on much softer ground.
Valiant Romeo, meeting the first two on vastly inferior terms than in a handicap, ran a fine race in defeat to be beaten only a length, the first three finishing clear of the remainder.
High Reach came out best of the rest.
