The advantage this time was clearly with the latter pair, for last month's course and distance winner CROESO BACH made just about all and won in good style, racing in a clear lead from over a furlong and a half out and being in no danger at all through the closing stages. She was only 2lb higher here and she is probably improving, but further weight is arguably added to the track bias conclusions by the relative proximity to the rest of Easy Wonder, who had raced here 24 hours earlier, lost about six lengths at the start and was not beaten much more that that overall.
Night Prospector seldom looks that keen nowadays, but this was not a bad effort.
Arfinnit failed to reproduce his recent course and distance form, but with hindsight would probably have done better staying towards the far side.
Ian Wood reported that Easy Wonder was never travelling. Kevin Ghunowa reported that Night Prospector was hanging right. Alan Brown's representative reported Signor Panettiere had a breathing problem.
