The second division of the fillies' maiden, and there was a bit more form to go on here. It was run in a significantly slower time than division one, but the pace was much steadier and that should not be allowed to detract from an impressive performance from odds-on GHAIDAA, who more than confirmed the promise of her Salisbury second and won in a style which suggests she will be upholding the family honour in better company before long.A Cape Cross half-sister to her stable's Oaks winner Eswarah, out of 1,000 Guineas and Oaks winner Midway Lady, she has much to live up to, and Michael Jarvis was on record saying she hadn't anything like the class of the other two. However, after her easy win here - in front over a furlong out and value for a fair bit further - he said she might now be acquiring that class and he did not rule out supplementing her for the Irish Oaks if the owner was keen. Unfortunately, she was simply too slow coming to hand for Royal Ascot, but she has evidently improved by leaps and bounds through the last six weeks or so and is one to keep on the right side of.

Solar Dance, dropped in from her wide draw, made a respectable debut at long odds and was clear of the prominently ridden Sweet Sara, who is eligible for a mark now, and the newcomers Sacred Flame, whose inexperience betrayed her as she made her effort up the outside, and Orange River.

Richard Hughes reported that Sacred Flame hung left. Ryan Moore reported that Testimonial hung left.
