Always prominent, the winner was under pressure with several of his opponents ready to pick him off, but to his immense credit he kept battling and found enough to see off his rivals. He'll continue to pay his way in races of this nature if displaying a similar attitude.
More Sport is a very consistent horse without much of a change of gear. Always reasonably handy, he was under pressure behind the leaders turning in and really just stayed from there. The winner just kept going and he couldn't get to him.
Joys Island has shown a liking for this track in the past and again ran well under top-weight but definitely flattered to deceive. Making good ground from mid-division to loom up on the outside jumping the second-last, he was unable to match the winner for effort and was thoroughly outbattled.
Beliar ran a fair race, keping on at one pace without really improving his position over the last half-mile or so. He kept on in front of Kingsbury, who probably ran a bit too free for his own good and travelled strongly to get to the front at the second-last before weakening from the final flight.
Charming Hymn ran nicely after a seven-month absence. Held up in rear, he was never involved but kept on nicely in the straight to be nearest at the finish.
