Agent Of Change tracked leaders, 3rd halfway, ridden to lead over 1f out, kept on well, strongly pressed close home, just held on
Alyazwa mid-division, 7th halfway, ridden into 5th 1 1/2f out, 3rd 1f out, kept on well to press winner close home, just failed
Born To Rock dwelt, towards rear, 8th 2f out, ridden into 6th under 1f out, kept on well close home
Egypt slightly hampered early, soon tracked leaders, 5th halfway, ridden to challenge in close 2nd over 1f out, no extra final furlong, kept on same pace
The Fugitive chased leaders, 4th halfway, ridden in 5th 2f out, no extra in 7th over 1f out, kept on same pace
Packsapunch chased leaders, 6th halfway, ridden 2f out, kept on same pace
Croisultan chased leader, improved to challenge before straight, ridden to dispute 1 1/2f out, no extra over 1f out and weakened
Tigerinflight led, ridden and strongly pressed entering straight, kept on under pressure, headed over 1f out, weakening when hampered final furlong
Colberay slowly into stride and always towards rear
Granite Lad always towards rear, trailing final furlong
AGENT FOR CHANGE, last of 12 over 6f on his debut a week previously, when he dropped out quickly in the straight and was eased when beaten, was a different proposition and dug deep to come out on top in a tight finish. He hit the front a furlong out and battled well to just shade the verdict. The Listed Golden Fleece over the same course and trip on July 2 is a possible target for the winner according to trainer Jim Bolger, who said: "He had been working well before he ran here last week but the wheels came off the wagon for some reason."Alyazwa, making his debut, only just lots out and should be able to make amends in a similar type contest. He began his effort over a furlong out and was soon putting it up to the winner, running on under pressure all the way to the line.
Egypt, in the frame on his two previous starts and runner-up to the well-regarded Arazan on quicker ground over the course and trip last month, appeared to hit a spot of trouble soon after the start but there were no excuses when he came through between horses to challenge well over a furlong out. He had every chance but found no extra in the closing stages.
The Fugitive, fifth over a slightly longer trip on his debut at Tipperary last month, would appear to be progressing based on a solid effort here.[TOH]
