Ballyholland held up, headway 4 out, led and edged right after 2 out, kept on strongly run-in
Water Taxi held up, headway before 4 out, effort before 2 out, chased winner run-in, ran on
Spirit Calling prominent, mistake 3rd, led 3 out to after next, one pace run-in
King Of The Arctic prominent, effort before 3 out, weakened from next
South Bronx tracked leaders until ridden and weakened before 2 out
Yankee Holiday disputed lead to 3 out, weakened next, beaten when blundered last
Possextown led to 3 out, soon ridden and weakened
Kit Carson held up in touch, headway 4 out, ridden and weakened after next
Bill´s Echo behind, struggling before 4 out, tailed off
BALLYHOLLAND, third to Premier Dane when facing a particularly stiff task in the novices' chase the previous day, proved much better suited by the return to handicap company. Coming from off the pace, he made ground to lead at the last and was ridden out to score. Although effective at two miles, as he showed on Wednesday, two and a half miles and fast ground seem ideal for him.
Water Taxi finished second for the third time in a row, but didn't appear to do a great deal wrong for he came there with every chance three out, was a bit outpaced, but then ran on again.
King Of The Arctic ran as though he is coming back to himself, and Kit Carson ran better than his finishing position on his firstrun for more than 200 days.
