Humourous led and clear to 4 out, quickened before 2 out, unchallenged
Final Veto mistakes, close up chasing group, went second before 3 out, wandered under pressure before next, no impression
On My Terms chased winner to before 3 out, soon weakened
Strobe prominent, mistake 3rd, weakened from before 4 out
Bayfirth in touch until weakened before 4 out
Thynefliesby in touch, struggling 7th, never on terms
Dannoby behind, struggling 7th, tailed off when pulled up before 3 out
It's hard to know what to make of the form, though, for it was won by the enterprisingly ridden HUMOUROUS, who went well clear and kept up the gallop to win unchallenged.
He came into the race on a mark of just 88, whereas the second Final Veto, who was giving him 7lb had a mark of 109. However, it would be unwise to take the form at face value for Final Veto didn't jump with any fluency, and was struggling from a long way out, and though he kept on for second, he could never get a blow in at the winner. Although this was his first run at 3m, it wasn't lack of stamina that beat him, it was more likely the fast ground.
Strobe was never going with any fluency and was well beaten.
