Rapid Release tracked leading pair, led and hung right over 1f out, ridden to get on top final 100yds
Wilbury Star led or disputed lead until over 1f out, kept on until outpaced by winner final 100yds
Percys Corismatic disputed lead until 2f out, no extra final furlong
Graysland soon driven along and behind, tailed off and eased final 2f
This looked hard work for these juveniles and it boiled down to a match as RAPID RELEASE and Wilbury Star settled down to fight it out in the final two furlongs. The more experienced Rapid Release proved the stronger, or at least the better equipped to handle this test - his previous experience of the track might well have been a contributory factor - and he stayed on wellto assert in the final half furlong and connections praised his attitude afterwards.
Percys Corismatic was unsurprisingly left behind in the closing stages, while Graysland was outpaced from the off and was a never a factor.
