American Art prominent, went 2nd halfway, ridden to lead over 2f out, headed 2f out, pressed winner after and clear of rest, no extra last 75yds
Greylami took keen hold, held up in last trio, tried to make progress but troubled passage from 3f out to 2f out, stayed on final furlong to take 3rd last stride
St Jean Cap Ferrat took keen hold, held up behind leaders, outpaced over 3f out, chased leading pair over 1f out, never able to close enough, lost 3rd last stride
Drum Major held up in last trio, pushed along and hanging 3f out, well behind after, taken to outer and last over 1f out, passed 7 rivals final furlong

Never Ending Tale took keen hold, tracked leaders, shaken up 3f out, soon beaten, eased when no chance final furlong
In what proved a prettyuneventful affair, early leader PALMERIN, who has been called some names, got back in front 2f out and was always doing just enough.
American Art was always handy and ran much his best race since his good reappearance win on the AW. This was agood effort and another sign that Barry Hills is recovering his form nicely ahead of the July meeting.
The first two were clear of Greylami, who came from much further back and had impressed on the AW early in the year, and St Jean Cap Ferrat, who looked one of the more interesting contenders but appeared to have no excuse.
Classical Rhythm dropped away after getting an easy enough lead. His form is on easier ground. The ground looked a problem too for Buddy Holly, who had climbed rapidly up the ratings in the course of three good handicap wins, all of them on good ground or softer. He never looked like getting involved but can be forgiven. (GD)
