Opera Writer always prominent, led over 3f out, ridden out
Sky Chart pulled hard, headway after 2f, ridden over 1f out, went 2nd well inside final furlong, not trouble winner
Barbirolli held up towards rear, headway over 3f out, ridden 1f out, kept on one pace
The Grey One slowly into stride, held up and behind, came wide straight, headway on outside over 1f out, ridden and one pace inside final furlong
Trysting Grove held up in mid-division, headway on inside over 7f out, went 2nd over 2f out, ridden well over 1f out, faded well inside final furlong
Orphina behind, soon pushed along, headway on inside over 4f out, ridden over 2f out, weakened 1f out
Converti held up in touch, weakened over 3f out
Baileys Best held up in touch, lost place over 8f out, behind 6f out, no danger after
Royal Tender held up in mid-division, lost place after 2f, soon behind, no danger after
Still Dreaming with leader, led over 6f out until over 3f out, weakened well over 1f out
Sovietta led until over 6f out, weakened over 5f out
Intersky Sports slowly into stride, always in rear, tailed off final 4f
The winner raced keenly, but his rider was able to keep him in check and hold enough back for his effort in the home straight, which proved enough to see off Sky Chart, who also took quite a tug, as he tends to do, but still managed to run his best race for quite some time. However, he remains a maiden and will find few easier opportunities outside of selling company to open his account.
