Zacinto tracked leading pair, pulled out over 2f out, led over 1f out, slightly green but soon drew clear, pushed out to the finish, impressive debut
Seminole led, shaken up and headed over 1f out, no chance with winner after but in no danger of losing 2nd
Oasis Knight settled in midfield, shaken up and effort over 2f out, hanging over 1f out, stayed on final furlong to take 3rd near finish
Flintlock chased leader to 2f out, hanging under pressure, outpaced and no chance after, lost 3rd near finish
Mt Kintyre chased leading trio, pushed along and not on terms from 3f out, no impression after
Mons Calpe mostly in same place and never on terms, pushed along from 3f out and no progress
Kyle Of Bute mostly in same place and never on terms, shaken up 2f out, no progress
Appraisal reluctant to enter stalls, started very slowly, well behind in last pair, never a factor
Chiberta King immediately struggling in last pair, never a factor
Storm Mist never better than 7th or 8th and never on terms, weakened 2f out
The headgear so soon on Newmarket Seminole was hardly an encouraging sign, although his half-brother Le Vie Dei Colori put up his career-best performance when winning the Challenge Stakes in a first-time visor. Jumped straight out in front, Seminole made the running until outclassed by a highly promising rival. He can obviously be found easier opportunities.
Mt Kintyre was a springer in the market but never looked like winning. He must have been showing plenty, but his stable is not renowned for first-time-out juvenile winners. He will probably do a lot better with the benefit of this experience.
The rest were beaten upwards of 15 lengths, so enthusiasm for their immediate prospects is limited. Appraisal, however, lost all chance at the start.
*Richard Quinn reported Mons Calpe hung all the way up the straight.
