Analyis of the race
A nursery that looked pretty open on paper, and it went to RIDGEWAY SILVER as she stuck on gamely to fend off the attentions of the runner-up. She had shown hints of ability in her three previous efforts but according to her trainer she was always going to be a nursery filly as she has been quite big and backward. If that is correct there might be a bit more to come as another furlong may well suit.
Finnegan McCool had much more of a chance on paper but did himself no favours when getting revved up in the preliminaries and actually crashed through a rail and came down soon after leaving the paddock. Obviously he was none the worse for the tumble, but it could not have done him any good mentally so this has to go down as a fair effort. As long as his temperament does not not get the better of him again he could well be up to winning in this company.
Redhead was stepping back a furlong in trip but looked one-paced and a step back up might suit better.
