Analyis of the race
The ground was officially on the fast side and the riders did not disagree.
This juvenile fillies contest revolved around how Royal Ascot Listed event fifth Flying Lady coped with stall 1 which is the worst draw possible given quick ground on the straight course. And her backers soon knew their fate as she was immediately switched to the favoured far side in a big field with only daylight behind her. When she did look like getting a run she did not seem to relish going about her business as she carried her head quite high. Taking everything into account, the Ascot race on a fast surface appears to have left its mark and she has questions to answer now.
While she failed to sparkle, the same cannot be said of MAID FOR MUSIC as she banged out of the stalls and was never headed. She had actually beaten Flying Lady last month so it is no great surprise she collected and her future now lies in nurseries.
Fong's Alibi and the principals were well clear of the rest and she is another for nurseries.
Prophetise did best of those with no previous experience and she should derive some benefit for the outing.
Positive Opinion will go the nursery route after another outing, while Order Order could muster just the one pace on her debut and should appreciate further in time.
