Pure Poetry always prominent, led well over 1f out, ran on, pushed out towards finish
Captain Ellis slowly into stride, soon in midfield, headway over 2f out, chased winner 1f out, stayed on, not quicken and held towards finish
Tale Of Silver slowly into stride, soon in midfield, pushed along halfway, headway over 1f out, stayed on inside final furlong, not pace to reach front pair
Digit led, hung badly left from halfway, headed well over 1f out, no extra inside final furlong
Woolston Ferry midfield, pushed along and headway halfway, hung left when chased leaders from 1f out, one pace final 100yds
When Doves Cry slowly into stride, outpaced and behind, stayed on from 1f out, not clear run inside final furlong, never troubled leaders, will improve
Jul´s Lad held up, some headway 1f out, kept on without troubling leaders
Buckers Beauty chased leaders, ridden halfway, weakened 2f out
Lucky Numbers slowly into stride, midfield, headway to chase leaders halfway, weakened 1f out
Pedregal always outpaced and behind
Reigning In Rio tracked leaders until ridden and weakened over 2f out
Terracotta Warrior soon outpaced
Paddyntrev Bakfavs slowly into stride, towards rear, pushed along and outpaced from halfway
Captain Ellis had to concede 3lb to the winner so there is very little between them. He came well clear of the third and did not have the benefit of a previous run, so there will be improvement to come.
Tale Of Silver had run green on his debut but knew a bit more about it this time, and he looks the type to improve again. He is sprint-bred but it would be no great surprise if he got further.
Woolston Ferry looked as if he might get into it at halfway but then hung left and had no more to offer from the furlong marker.
When Doves Cry was never able to get in a threatening blow but she was getting the hang of things in the latter stages and is one to keep an eye on.
Paul Fessey reported that Digit hung left.
