Bustan slowly into stride, soon chasing leaders, shaken up and closed 3f out, switched left 1f out, led well inside final furlong, ran on well
Mesbaah raced keenly, clear with leader, ridden well over 2f out, unable to quicken entering final furlong, plugged on to go 2nd again near finish
Riley Boys led, clear with rival, ridden and edged left just over 1f out, headed well inside final furlong, faded and lost 2nd near finish
Shotley Mac chased leaders, ridden well over 3f out, chased leaders under pressure 1f out, kept on same pace final furlong
Nevada Desert held up in midfield, pulled out and effort over 2f out, chased leaders 1f out, no impression last 100yds
Fiefdom held up in midfield, switched left and ridden over 2f out, chased leaders over 1f out, weakened final furlong
Daniel Thomas steadied start, held up in rear, ridden and effort over 2f out, never dangerous
Alqaahir held up in rear, ridden and headway over 2f out, hard ridden and weakened over 1f out
The winner, who has been in cracking form for several weeks, picked-up with a vengeance to go and win his race, which was a deserved victory as a reward for his consistency.
Mesbaah, dropping back slightly in trip, following his creditable effort at York where he wore blinkers for the first time, had a visor on here. He raced freely, disputing the lead, and was briefly tapped for foot when the final dash developed. But he stuck on really well to nick second place in the shadow of the post. A stiffer test of stamina promises to suit him even better.
Shotley Mac, again ridden patiently, was produced to have every chance entering the final furlong, but he was unable to quicken towards the finish.
Nevada Desert ran a sound race. The remaining trio were comfortably held.
