Analyis of the race

It is unlikely the bare form of this claimer will stand up as it became two races with The Jailer setting what turned out to be a suicidal pace and only caving in up the straight. TEN TO THE DOZEN, who had plenty to find on official figures, was in the right place at the right time as he led the chasers but was all out himself in the end. His trainer thought the rain that had fallen earlier in the day helped as he refused to put in on firm last time.

Steig usually races up with the pace but was patiently ridden this time and that may not have suited.
