GAP PRINCESS had been in fine fettle and clearly continues to thrive.Always in touch, she stayed on to lead close home, seeming to benefit from this step up to an easy 7f. She should not be hit too hard for this narrow success and she should continue to give a good account.
Nuit Sombre had not been at his best in recent races but is a capable performer when able to dominate, as he did after a quick break here, leading until near the finish. He is on an attractive mark and is worth keeping in mind for another contest he can boss from the front.
The 2007 winner Countdown had failed to find his form previously this year but ran a fine race from his wide draw keeping on well on the wide outside and doing best of those coming from off the pace. He must have gone very close with a better draw and is clearly back in the form to take advantage of his favourable mark.
The three-year-old Al Samha ran creditably on his first try in open companywhile Turn Me On deserves plenty of credit as he had the worst of the draw and did not get a clear run over 1f out - he has run well all three outings this year and should be kept in mind.
Joshua's Gold and Carmenero ran respectably but are not handicapped to win races as competitive as this.
Stoic Leader may be worth trying over a longer trip.
