But the often placed SQUIRTLE had been freshened up after a spell on the all-weather in the winter and returned in good enough heart to double her career tally of wins on her 37th appearance, moving very smoothly into the lead over two furlongs out and scoring comfortably. She is well treated on her old form but will be given a two or three-weekbreak rather than being turned out again under a penalty. She has been hard to win with in the past but did nothing wrong here.
Park's Prodigy was another who returned in decent fettle after a break, keeping on to go second around 1f out and running well enough to show that he stays 2m.
Selling winner Elite Land shaped as though getting the trip, while Pilca ran respectably but will probably do better returned to hurdling.
Bad Boy Al, prominent from the off, looked good when hitting the front three furlongs out but he did not seem to get home - he had run good races at 1m4f and 1m5f previously this season and isworth another chance if dropped back in trip.
