Whiskey Junction pressed leader, led over 1f out, over a length clear final furlong, always holding on near finish
Vintage tracked leaders, went 3rd and ridden over 1f out, hanging and not quicken, consented to run on final furlong and closed on winner near finish
Yankee Storm soon last, plenty to do 2f out, picked up entering final furlong, ran on to take 3rd last 75yds, never nearer
Woodcote tracked leading pair, ridden and not quicken well over 1f out, faded inside final furlong
Pha Mai Blue led, driven and headed over 1f out, weakened inside final furlong
Lucayos held up behind leaders on inner, effort 2f out, pressing for a place when not clear run just inside final furlong, no chance after
Bertbrand steadied start, held up in rear but in touch, ridden well over 1f out, no impression, kept on near finish
China Cherub tracked leaders and raced wide, ridden 2f out, weakened just over 1f out
Vintage never looked like going past the winner but finished clear of the rest. He is currently 5lb higher than for his Kempton win and probably ran as well as he has ever done here.
Yankee Storm started favourite but was none too well away from the inside stall and still last into the straight. He made late headway but was never going to get to the two principals.
Pha Mai Blue showed pace on the inner and wasn't entirely disgraced, but an ever tumbling handicap mark still doesn't threaten to get Lucayos back in the winner's enclosure.
This was a step up in class for Bertbrand, who was blinkered for his debut for new connections and was always towards the rear.
Last year's winner China Cherub chased them on the outer but was soon beaten in the straight and eased right down before the finish.
