Johnmanderville tracked leaders, ridden to lead over 1f out, ridden and drifted right, held on well
Veronicas Boy prominent, driven over 2f out, rallied to chase winner inside final furlong, no impression
Carmanjoe pressed leader, effort over 2f out, kept on same pace over 1f out
Elaine´s Folly in touch, effort over 2f out, hung right, no extra over 1f out
Raimond Ridge baulked start, soon led, headed over 1f out, soon beaten
Sweet Smile never going well, soon detached, eased when no chance final 2f
That said, the winner JOHNMANDERVILLE is a juvenile with plenty of scope and having shown improved form to win, could well progress again. Gelded since his previous run, he travelled well and after leading two out, hung right but ran on. He'll be even better suited by having a right-hand running rail to race against.
Veronicas Boy, back up to 6f, kept on for second, but had no chance with the winner.
Elaine's Folly was quite keen early, and never landed a blow. The other two both ran poorly, Sweet Smile was beaten after a furlong and was eased, and though he showed plenty of early pace, the well-backed Raimond Ridge dropped right away in the last two furlongs to finish tailed off.
