Diane´s Choice always prominent on outside, strong run under pressure final furlong to lead close home
Cosmic Destiny in touch, ridden to lead approaching final furlong, kept on headed post
Fastrac Boy led until strongly ridden and headed approaching final furlong, not quicken close home
Just Joey in touch, every chance over 2f out until no extra inside final furlong
Gone´N´Dunnett prominent, every chance 2f out, until no extra inside final furlong
Dancing Mystery slowly into stride, soon in touch, hung left over 1f out and no headway inside final furlong
Swindon Town Flyer very slowly away and always behind
Six were in line abreast past halfway, then Cosmic Destiny looked the likely winner until DIANE'S CHOICE produced a late charge down the outside to nab it on the line.
She has done well to win, as her best form has been with cut in the ground, but the handicapper has taken pity on her and she took full advantage. She returns here for the big-money (by Brighton standards) Rocket at the three-day meeting and looks well worth a try at Goodwood on what is always well-watered ground.
Unlike the winner, Cosmic Destiny runs too consistently to get any help from the handicapper and she has again put in a strong effort that looked like succeeding through the finalfurlong. It is nearly a year since her last win, and still around her best winning mark, she at least showed that rattling fast ground holds no fears so a return visit could bring reward.
Just Joey was a shade disappointing, never quite getting to the leaders and possibly feeling the effects of four cracking runs inside three weeks.
