Zuwaar waited with, headway when edged right over 1f out, ran green and went left before led inside final furlong, kept on
Dark Prospect in touch, led over 3f out, ridden and hung right over 1f out, hung let and headed inside final furlong
Hendersyde tracked leaders, carried right over 1f out and slightly hampered inside final furlong, one pace
Day Trip held up, ridden oer 3f out, effort over 1f out, weakened final furlong
Dixie Dean always in rear
Rasmani took keen hold, with leader until lost place over 4f out, soon behind, tailed off
Gingham made most until headed over 3f out, lost action 2f out, pulled up and dismounted inside final furlong
That left Dark Prospect ahead but under strong pressure, and he could do nothing to contain ZUWAAR, who had sat last and slightly detached from the strong pace. He still looked well beaten going to the final 2f but stretched out on the uphill run and won going away.
He had been the subject of a long-winded and mostly unflattering explanation to the stewards after his poor debut effort two months ago. A little better next time on the all-weather, he showed he was progressing in turning round that form with Hendersyde and clearly showed a liking for rattling fast ground. He is due in the sales ring this month and it will be interesting to see what the handicapper makes of his threeruns.
Hendersyde was another who did not look a stayer at this trip on turf as he held a chance into the last 2f but was woefully one-paced.
