Vigano always in touch on inside, led over 1f out, ridden, just held on
Caprio held up, headway on outside over 1f out, ran on strongly to go 2nd close home and just failed to catch winner
Benedetto held up, headway over 2f out, went 2nd over 1f out, hung left and lost 2nd close home
Regal Veil always prominent, ridden over 2f out, one pace from over 1f out
Seeking The Star mid-division, ridden over 2f out, one pace after
Rough Rock led until ridden and headed over 1f out, weakened inside final furlong
Doric Lady always in rear
Moluccella raced wide, prominent until weakened over 2f out, eased final furlong
VIGANO travelled well, chasing the pace and looked like winning well into the final furlong, but the 7f looks plenty far enoughas he was all out to hold the late charge of Caprio. Both have had their moments at the stalls but this time it was only Caprio, who was a handful on the way to the start and then behind the stalls when he was spotted being slapped across the face by a stall handler.
He got unbalanced in the dip inside the last 3f before picking up on the rising ground to make up fully three lengths down the middle of the track. He is clearly not straightforward but threatens to get further if his energies can beharnessed.
Regal Veil is another who has plenty of placings and, from just out of the handicap and over a trip stretching her stamina, she was not disgraced and can make more impact at the lowest level.
