Quite an average contest, but QUIET ACCORD had to improve on the official ratings to win this, and she did.

A mare who has had no less than three operations on her wind, she settled off the pace and came through on the outside to challenge before the second-last. Despite a mistake at that flight, she went on before the last and maintained her level of advantage all the way to the line.

She's bound to go up a few pounds for this performance – it will be interesting to see what the handicapper does.

House Of Bourbon gave another clue that he might have a hurdle race in him. He tried to make all and battled back briefly once he was headed before the second-last, but it looked like stamina just gave out on him as much as anything else.

Held up in mid-division, Harcus Six Zero made some improvement four out and travelled well to be in contention early in the straight, but was only able to keep on at one pace in the straight. It was his first try at this trip and it's inconclusive whether he stayed or not.

Ancient Maya was never close enough to challenge and just stayed on past beaten horses to be nearest at the finish.

One of those beaten horses was the favourite Janeylad. He was handy for most of the journey but was under pressure to stay in touch with the leaders before the turn into the straight and was soon beaten.

Al Johnston threatened briefly down the back straight but was eventually pulled up lame.
