The market got it right when LUNDUV comfortably headed long-time leader Fantosha early in the straight before doing enough to open her account despite tiring inside the final furlong. Her trainer nominated a handicap next for the Pivotel filly, who had shaped well last time in second onher debut behind Ballydoyle's Mystical Lady.
Veidhleadoir was the most experienced runner in the field. She went in pursuit of the winner in the straight, but she was unable to pick up enough to wear her down. The ease in the ground mightn't have helped her cause in the closing stages. Having been pulled up after losing her action when favourite for a Dundalk handicap on her seasonal debut, this was more encouraging for connections.
The first-time blinkered Fantosha soon headed the eventualwinner to lead in the early stages and record a career best finish here. She looks to be going the right way, but was beaten a long way in the end.
Diamond Star, stable companion of the winner and a full sister to Grey Swallow, shaped well on her debut. Fifth into the straight and pushed along to that point, she kept on well and looks sure to benefit plenty from this initial experience over a little further.
My Dark Rosaleen, a sister to Group 2 juvenile winner Silk And Scarlet, never got in a blow when the distress signals went up turning in.
Rock And Roll Kid, who spread a plate earlier resulting in a slight delay, looked very green in the early stages and slightly hampered newcomer Zibrova.
