The opportunity was seized, but it's not a total certainty that the runner-up would have won anyway. The Galway Plate is the apparent target, but he does probably need to go up another few punds to get into that particular handicap.
\Green Mile was running in only his second handicap chase and ran a really good race. Held up last, he was brought into the race before the turn into the straight and did get that length advantage before that final fence mistake. If he had winged the last he probably would have won.
Caher Lass raced handily and was never far from the pace, but was unable to make any impression and just kept on at one pace in the straight in front of Il En Reve. He was a bit disappointing compared to his run at Kilbeggan last time. A clear leader early on, he was headed early on the final circuit before briefly battling back under pressure three out. That effort couldn't be sustained fromthe turn into the straight. [JOH]
